Today my soul is grieving. In a blink of an eye we have lost two medevac helicopters and more importantly six highly trained and dedicated medics and pilots. Something like this always strikes a chord with first responders (or like myself former first responders) and is emailed out to EMT’s and firefighters with the subject line reading “LODD” – Line of Duty Death. It will be a long time before the pieces are sifted through, pronouncements made and procedures rewritten. But the loss remains. It remains in the hearts of their families and their extended families who worked with them everyday. God bless them for their servant’s heart and their willingness to run towards what others are running away from. I pray that God will bring peace to their families and heal their wounds.
